  6. Problem is I have no idea the spare is heavy and bulky , the bars are the same. The rest shouldn't cost too much. Bob

  9. Spoke to the dealer who fitted the tow bar and they quoted £150 to remove the tow bar and refit it into another car. Not bad if I get another Yeti. Bob
  10. Still got all the bits, I bought the spare wheel as a kit.
  11. Never thought about the recoding.
  12. I'm thinking of changing my car. When I got it the local dealer fitted a Westfalia detachable towbar it cost me £940 fitted. I want to salvage some of this cost. My question is how easy would it be to get the dealer to remove it and what could I expect selling it on. Also what does a spare wheel and tools go for second hand. thanks bob
  13. For what's worth having towed a caravan for over 17 years too, I'm reluctant to go over 85%. I know this limits my car /caravan choice. I've seen many other outfits overtake me when travelling at the speed limit which on the surface look a poor match, but that's their choice. I have also found the Yeti more stable to tow than either a Passat or a Bora because of the short overhang. Bob

  16. Just got myself a set of yeti roof bars. Now i need copy of the instructions and fixing bolts. can anyone help?
  17. Yes because they have "summer" tyres on and I want to save my steel wheels with winter tyres for next year. First time with winter tyres so we'll see how it goes and it will all depend on how many negative comments I get about my car with " cheapo wheels". May sell them and get all weather tyres on the alloys. Bob
  18. I got my genuine new Skoda steel wheels for £80 from a kind member of this forum, so it was an easy choice.
  19. In winter is it better to drive a Yeti with steel wheels and winter tyres or Alloys with "summer " tyres?
  20. Still looks like a 20k car even with the steel wheels. Bob
