  1. Sorry, I probably didn't make it clear. There is no option to display speed at all at the moment 😞
  2. As above, anyway I can get the Maxidot on a 2011 Superb Elegance to display the speed?
  3. Well I have it! Just driven 242 miles home in it at “motorway speed” and got 52mpg which I’m pretty impressed with. The Audi A5 I drove down in with basically the same engine achieved 44mpg. Surprised it’s capable of that much more mpg. Really impressed with the handling too! Actually feels much more grippy than the A5. Bit disappointed with the bluetooth audio. I can’t change the track or see what’s playing on the car? Have to do it through the phone. Is there any way of sorting this?
  4. No idea why it's so cheap at a dealer here. I'm surprised tbh. Dealers are usually extortionate. For example, Audi wanted £680 for front discs and pads on my A5 last week, and wanted to charge £180 for a tyre which was available online for £145. Is the DSG dual clutch in the Superb?
  5. Thanks, the £189 is from Skoda Dealerships and appears to be afixed price, so I'd be sure they'd be using the correct oil. As for the sunroof, this car doesn't have one. As much as I'd like one, any worries of water ingress I can do without. So I'll live with a little sun in my life. 😄
  6. He's doing a gearbox service, and cambelt and water pump before I pick it up I'm surprised an oil change on the gearbox is only £189 at my local dealer though. Cheaper than I thought it would be.
  7. I've found one with 150,000 on the clock, but it has had 3 gearbox services over its life. The milage is a little scary, but I figure it's a safer bet than one with unknown or no history.
  8. Hmm, leaky roof puts me off a bit. Don't fancy a repeat of my MK1 Superb 😁 As much as Ioved thar car, the ingress was a pain. I've found one with 108,000 miles on it. It's never had a gearbox service though, he said reverse has a delay, but eventually selects and works. Do you think a service would sort this, or avoid?
  9. Sorry, should’ve said. Looking at a 2.0 TDI 170. Best way for looking for water damage? Check any particular part of the floor? Also were front sensors standard?
  10. Hey all. Looking at buying a Superb as above. I'm wanting Elegance trim (L&K would be nice, but out of my price range), and I want a panoramic roof. Was the roof an option on the Elegance? As some have it and some don't. I'd usually be happy with a manual but the other half needs an auto, I'm just worried about mileage on the DSG as the cars I'm looking at have done 125,000 - 175,000. Any advice, and other things to look out for much appreciated.
  11. Looking for a cheap estate simply for taking my 4 dogs out in, and hauling garden waste and stuff to the skip. Along with the convenience of having an estate for other things. I've great experience with the 1.9PDs. I used to own a Superb 1.9 Elegance and a Fabia VRS. My uncle now has the VRS and it's still going strong at 210,000 miles. Browising auto trader and I'm shocked to see how cheap you can pick up an Octy estate with a PD lump. For a grand will I be buying a lemon, or is it possible to spend only 1k and have a decent enough car? I always service any car I buy and would change all fluids and the cambelt. But it seems so cheap, just wondering if anyone can share their experiences?
  12. The MK2 Superb is a completely different car to the MK1, different platform, totally different design. It won't share the problem with the MK1. Use the MK2 forum for any common problems with a MK2, all the info you need will be there.
  13. Is there a part number, or am I best just typing auo levelling module into ebay? I think my mate has Vagcom, have messaged him anyway. See what he says...
  14. It does say on start up, "lights failure" on the Maxidot. Now the boot lid is rusted so the number plate lights don't work. Would this bring this light up too? The Superb is currently sat on the drive. It's not needed, as we have other cars. But I want to keep it alive. The engine is solid, and the best engine I've ever had in a car and I want to keep it running. Any cheap way of reading the error codes?
  15. My Superb won't pass its MOT due to the headight beam aim. Now obviously they're meant to auto level, but they don't. With other cars we have with Xenon, you can see the bean go down and then up, every time they come on. But the Superb doesn't. Where do I begin trying to fix this? New units cost a fortune!
  16. The 1.6 diesel is what we've got in the Octavia. It's not quick by any means, but certainly has more than enough power and torque to haul itself a long. What's wrong with using 2nd gear for a roundabout? And obviously it's not going to have the same level of protection from road noises, compared to its bigger brother the Superb. That's a given.
  17. That's the one, Mitchell's Cheshire Oaks. I've just been out to test the Light Assist too, and it's great!
  18. Well, here it is... I can confirm it did come with ACC, and I am so glad it did. As it has DSG, it will come to a complete stop when following the car in front. It really is excellent! And the Park Assist actually works. It's squeezed into some tight spaces today. We went out to experiment lol (sad I know). Few pics, I actually forgot other than the one when picking up, so the other two are just now, and the car is already a bit dirty...
  19. Well I've got it! And it has got Adaptive Cruise Control. will post more when I'm home.
  20. Will they be able to inform me if it is now fitted as standard? The online brochure only shows it as standard on the L&K.
  21. Really? That's quite annoying as we've paid for Park Assist :( Which model of Octavia did you get?
  22. And the Elegance trim seems to have disappeared from the website?!
  23. It was ordered mid-March. Obviously it will have Park Assist, as we've paid for it. But ACC was a £400 option at the time, and couldn't justify it. But with the car already having the radar for the front assist, I was wondering if the ACC would be on it. I'll find out at 10:30 tomorrow I guess. Seriously, Park Assist, free?!
  24. Picking up our new Octavia tomorrow. It's a 1.6 TDI DSG Elegance. We added Kessy and park assist as optional extras. Now the brochure at the time said it would have front assist, yet online it shows adaptive cruise control as standard too. Anyone know exactly what it will have?
  25. My mum gets her car on Motability. And although a lot don't have high mileage when sold on. Some will. Both my mother and father are disabled, and we live in North Wales. They travel to Liverpool and back, and Manchester and back several times a week to hospital appointments. Usually covering 45,000-55,000 over the three years of having the cars. They are always serviced on time as it's free. So if anything, I'd buy a motability car over others!
