  1. Paint the airbox and piping white as the engine cover and just give the battery a good clean and a bit of a plastic treatment product of choice so it is nice and shiney black . Looks good !
  2. Not be a spoilsport or to rain on anybody's parade but I think they were both helped a lot by VWs not finishing the Rally Still, great result and well done chaps!
  3. I think what you got now is chassis flex and no body roll. Strut bracing is a solution but I think the best is the stiffening of the floor to resist the diagonal chassis twisting. At least this is what I will be doing later this year, I hope.
  4. And here is a very shaky one from my S4 mobile phone. I was enjoying some shark hunting at first then let one silver smoke screen machine by and was harrasing it till the end of the session. I do prefer to be hunting than to be hunted!
  5. I have not seen any and I was considering making a front strut brace myself but due to personal reasons it will have to wait for a while. YOu stopped the vid short, where is the bit when I whizz past you? - thanks for letting me go, you did not have to ! And here is one for you, aptly titled "The Hunt" Let me know if it works as I'd never used YouTube for uploading vids before
  6. It was a great day indeed. I officially like Castle Combe Track very much now, despite it being my very first time there. As I was following you to and going just in front of you when we came off the track after the 2nd session I could hear that "new noise" very well. To me it sounded like a plastic bush from one of the ARBs having no lubrication and making those "ticking noises" whenever the bar twisted in it ever so slightly. Perhaps put a few drops of oil as a simple check if that is what is causing the noises? If noise is gone then you will now that all is needed is some more grease Those photos James took are splendid. Your car looks like there is no body roll at all in my eyes. It looks more like ARBs stiffened it up very well but now the chassis is twisting, especially in the second photo - perhaps time for those Ultraracing braces
  7. Wow, around 16s faster than S2000 on SS's, that thing is well quick! P.S. Beginning of the vid above - and I thought my vRS had a rough idle
  8. Looks like R5 Fabia stirred a lot of interest among other rally teams. Looking forward to watching them go I do not suppose there is any chance of that 1.6 Turbo lump making it into a future Fabia vRS?
  9. I was actually looking forward to seeing you go around the track in that V6 Alfa... :( What happened?
  10. Yes, under AMV's. I was using "Absolute Intake Pressure" in kPA but there is at least two or three others to choose from. I would have to play around with them some more.
  11. I was playing with VCDS logging my car, Fabia vRS Mk2 factory standard. Under Engine and then Advanced Measuring Values I found position labeled "Engine Torque" (G125 in Nm). I know that DSG needs to know the torque produced at the flywheel and I was wondering if this measurement is anyhow reliable and which sensor does it come from or is it calculated? Any light shed on this one appreciated Thanks!
  12. Yes, it is, there is a few positions under different names showing intake pressure from different sensors. I cannot remebere from the top of my head but it is there
  13. In reality I suspect that the weights were added to "dumb it down" as I am yet to see any info from people who took them off and had any adverse effects. RARB indeed transforms the car truck loads!
  14. I think it was Alan McNish and he did walk away unscathed indeed.
  15. In road and track compounds in sizes we can put on our 17" wheels http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorsport/track-day-tyres/nankang-sportnex-ns-2r-tyre http://www.camskill.co.uk/m117b2512s664p0/Track_Day_Tyres_-_Trackday_Tyres_-_Motorsport_Tyres_-_17_inch_Nankang_Tyres_Trackday_Track_Day_Nankang_NS2R_Sportnex_Racing_Nankang_NS_2R_-_R17_inch_-_215_45_17_215_45R17 Could not find any other sizes anywhere else and I do not think they make them really, this is the closest that would fit us http://www.nankangtyre.co.uk/performance/motorsport/ns-2r
  16. Try logging brake system pressures, I think there are two or three measuring blocks you could monitor, perhaps this wouls shed some light before you start replacing more parts? Have you done the ABS pump bleeding procedure yet?
  17. Damp is OK, as long as no standing water it is fun, puddles on the track - not so much fun :( I was really positively surprised how much grip RS-R's give in damp conditions!
  18. I've been checking the weather forecast for the track daily and each time I look more certain the rain seems to be
