Bump? Nobody? Heh.

I've always been under the assumption that stock Xenon was 5000K.

Some induction noise gain, and squeezing a little more out of my inevitable remap. And they look nice.

Can't edit the post - this forum has never worked properly for me. :S 118TSI is the 1.8ltr petrol unit.

Hey, everyone!! I'm looking for an intake for my FL vRS TDI CR. I've compared the engine compartment to 118TSI Golf Cabrio, and they look exactly the same... So I'm wondering, can I just get a TSI intake and bolt it straight up to my TDI? Here's some pics of my engine bay, if it helps! Like, I don't see why it shouldn't fit... But VWaG cars aren't that common here (Well, the TDI tuning side of things at least) and I would love some professional advice. Also - I heard on another forum that a "catback" exhaust system for the TDI basically doesn't change the sound, and I'd be better off with a muffler delete. Is there any merit to this? Cheers! -Myst

Here is a pic I took of high/low beam 6000k's.

I'm just going to put this post here, so I can get updates when things happen. We don't get the Citygo here (Australia) ... But man, I want one. Well... One with a 1.8t.

You've convinced yourself. Do it... You'll regret it once its gone. The 125TDI is a very nice engine.

Highest boost pressure I've seen on my vRS TDI was 22.3PSI, with an ELM327 (eBay bluetooth scanner) and Torque Pro for Android. I test drove a Scout before buying the vRS... They're a bloody nice car. Enjoy it.

My wagon gets around 4L/100km (70mpg imp.) on the highway, 5.5L/100km (51.3mpg imp.) around town and 7.5L/100km (37.6mpg imp.) when pushing it really hard. (Tyres screaming around corners, etc) All numbers are averages over the entire run. Very impressed. vRS TDI 6M Wagon

I had a go at mounting a 22" 80W LED light bar to the metal bumper brace, so that it shines through the honeycomb on the front, under the numberplate. Could drill the 6mm holes up through the metal, but the old 12mm bit, a brand new 12mm bit and a mate's 10mm bit would not make any progress whatsoever, so the idea is on hold for now. Invisible unless kneeling down infront of the car, or on. I figured - why not?

@mikeholroyd- What I meant by that was, the beam pattern and light output etc was fantastic. First BCM blow was done by having high beam on, sitting in traffic and holding the accelerator down. (2,500rpm cap with the ESP on) The front right indicator bulb turned on and would stay on 24/7. Second BCM blow was the same thing, ironically. Third replacement was because the dealership couldn't get the new one to talk to the computer - so couldn't code the keys. Sorry - My mistake. Only on my 4th, now. Not putting HID's back in. Heh. I'm not sure why mine have blown but nobody else's have.
-
I had aftermarket HID's on both low and high beam. Worked fantastically. Just a 35W 6000k eBay kit. After frying a few Body Control Modules (I'm on my 5th now, in 9 months) I've given up on the HID idea, and have started exploring other options. Currently waiting for a friend to bring over a huge drill and help me mount a 20" 80W LED light bar behind the bottom honeycomb grille.

Retro fit HID on FL Octavia?

@alberg- How did they get around it? One of my ballasts has blown, so its yet again time to grab a new one. Any specific one which would work?? -

I'm on my 5th body control module in 9 months, thanks to HID's. Definitely should have gotten factory ones!! -
Even though I know its so, so wrong... Those GTI wheels look the goods. I wonder what they'd look like in gunmetal, on a Race Blue wagon.
-
I'd go for the vRS TDI... Not at all personal preference.

I don't know about in the UK, but here in Aus, the VW/Skoda/Audi petrol's are known for using the higher grade fuel. Here we have: RON91-E10 (10% ethanol); RON91 (rare places); RON95; and RON98. Every VWaG requires RON95 minimum. Does anyone know why they can't run it on the RON91-E10? (About 20-40c/ltr cheaper, in most places)

I like having fogs, by themselves. Means more light when looking at street signs in the dark, better for the driveway, and... the fog!! Also can configure cornering fogs via VCDS. I'd go with DRL on its own.

2006 Octavia 2.0 diesel, sounds like a siren

I took a rough dirt road in my old Kia, once. (2.2 CRDi, MY10) Came off the dirt road, noticed a turbo whine. Had it checked out by the dealership, but apparently all was fine. Went on to do 25,000 more km before trade-in on Octy vRS. That turbo whine sounded awesome, though.
