  1. I had this a while ago on my 2008 columbus. Its a much older version but i had to get it reflashed by a skoda dealer to resolve it. It was flashed to newer version of the software but that version is long since replaced. Others may say you can fix yourself but i didnt want to risk trashing the headunit. Cost about £100 back in 2012. I think its just one of those things.
  2. Sounds like you need to pull the whole console out. This is an old post i found that might help. Check out the rest of the forums too. A google search will usually point you to this forum and someone has probably had the same problem before.
  3. Not sure if he is around but there is a member with the name Rustynuts that does sell refurbed head units.
  4. I have had this problem. The ballast failed and had to be replaced. Fixed the issue straight away. You can check its not the lamp by switching from the other headlight. The Ballast is a pain in the ass to replace. I had to have it done in a local indy garage after i bought the part. from memory its attached to the bottom of the headlight unit. Make sure when they fit it the seal it tight. They usually fail because the seal has been compromised. They aren't cheap. If your headlight unit is damaged its probably worth biting the bullet and replacing the whole unit because that includes the new ballast.
  5. Simple way is to buy the same Xenon unit you have fitted. They are fiddly to get out but there are plenty of on line videos. However what you are supposed to do is replace both lamps at the same time to avoid an imbalance. Its a pain but its the right thing to do. Keep the spare as a back up lamp. If you think changing Bi-Xenon lamps are expensive what until you have to change the light cluster when the LED units fail.
