  1. Recently looked at changing our Karoq for a Kodiaq so the we can take our 3 young grandkids out together. Long story short, no ISOFIX on the back row which seems pretty stupid! Reason for the post is that in conversation, the sales guy reckoned we could expect about £1000 less trade-in for the Karoq because it has cream leather because no-one wants it. Not sure about the last statement as I know quite a few members have specified cream. They certainly didn't mention any reduction in the trade-in value when we placed the order
  2. We have a Karoq Edition, but thought it would be nice to be able to take our 3 young grandchildren out together. I thought I'd look at the Kodiaq as one or two of the kids seats could go in the very back row giving us comfortable room for 3 kids and 3 grownups. First surprise was no ISOFIX in the back row. Guy at the garage didn't know if they were available as an option, but I don't think they are. He did say ISOFIX on the front passenger seat is an option, but Grandkids aren't really old enough the sit in the front and in any case it would mean a grownup sitting in the very back row and there ain't much room!!! I know we could fit a seat on the back row using the seat belt, but they're a long way back and ISOFIX would be so much easier. Just seems stupid to me that anyone would design a 7 seat family car and only put ISOFIX on 2 of the seats. Net result is we'll not buy a Kodiaq, we'll just take 2 cars in the short term. The other disturbing thing is that the Karoq has cream leather and he said we would get £1000 less for it in a trade-in than if it were black. They didn't tell us that when we ordered. We've had 5 new Skoda's in the past 6 years but I suspect our next car won't have a silver arrow on the bonnet!!
  3. Doors on the Karoq cover the sills. Sad it's not as much fun as the Yeti.
  4. Factory fit tow bar for the Yeti is manufactured by Westfalia. I believe Westfalia UK have a fitting centre in Bristol. I've had Westfalia Detachable towbars on 2 x Yeti's and they are good.
  5. I would say that the swing down tow bar is much easier than the detachable. No keys, no plastic plug to insert when the tow bar is off, no storage needed and no groping around for the lighting socket as it's incorporated in the tow bar. Must admit I thought it was expensive until I had a Westfalia after market tow bar fitted to a Scout. I think the factory fit bar on the Karoq is the best I've ever seen and would recommend it to anyone. I towed a 1.5 tonne mini digger on an Ifor Williams Plant Trailer for close on 200 miles when we moved house. Right on the cars upper limit for towing, but no problems whatever.
  6. I ordered a Westfalia aftermarket detachable fitted on my Scout as, like you, I thought it was the same as the OEM fit. I was disappointed with the size of the bumper cut, which goes back further than yours, so I guess that's why mine doesn't foul the bumper. Looked strange for a start, but I'm getting used to it now, although it would be less obvious if the car was silver rather than red. Might have to get some silver spray and just spray the red bit behind the bumper cut. Fitting the detachable is really easy although the electrics plug is very close to the neck. I guess to have it further away would mean a bigger cut and another can of paint ! Regret not ordering the factory fitted towbar as I guess you get a panel to clip in to the bumper cutout when the towbar is off. Or at least that's what we had on our Yeti. Got the fancy electric one on the Karoq and it's the mutts nuts (albeit a tad expensive)
  7. Picked our 2.0 tdi Edition 4x4 on launch day and it's now done almost 10,000 miles. Don't particularly like the 19" alloys and think it's daft that you can't specify 18". Never had problems with kerbing 18's but now have 3 damaged 19's Didn't specify heated front screen as the car lived in the garage but we've now moved and don't have a garage . Thought the idea of a heated steering wheel was a bit naff but then bought an Octy Scout 184DSG and think the heated steering wheel is brilliant . Apart from that the car is great, really comfy on a long drive, reasonably economical and despite a lot of threads to the contrary regards the seat trays, the Grand Kids love them. Boots not huge but ample for all of our shopping and holiday wise we tend to take short breaks so space is never a problem. Had 2 x Yeti's prior to the Karoq and although I loved them, I do think the Karoq is a better all round car. Me and the missus are both retired so these days if we want to carry loads of stuff we take the Octy Scout and if we want to ride out in comfort we take the Karoq
  8. We had the factory fit tow bar and it's brilliant. Nice that when it's in position, you can see it in the reversing camera so dead easy for hooking up trailer, but I guess you'd see any tow bar. Just had a detachable Westfalia fitted on an Octy Scout (with no Factory tow bar prep) and it cost nearly as much as the factory fit on the Karoq. So in the end, the £850 doesn't seem that bad
  9. We have 2 x Labradors and they didn't like the space in the back of the Karoq either, so we bought them an Octy Scout. Works out great, fitted a dog guard and Boot Buddy in the Scout so they're safe and comfy and the Cream Leather in the Karoq doesn't get covered in slobber!!! Every ones happy
  10. Being in my twilight years (69) and not very tech savvy, I need some help understanding what goes on with my SD card. I've downloaded some music off i tunes and copied some off CD's and as far as I know, also copied the artwork. Now comes the bit I don't understand. If I put it in our Karoq with Columbus Infotainment, the artwork is displayed alongside the track that's playing. Most of the artwork is there, but on a few tracks it's missing so it displays a random artwork according to the genre of the track, so in general fairly happy with that. Move the same card into our Scout with Amundson Infotainment and all I get displayed is a picture of an SD card. Music plays fine but no artwork. How can this be. Is Columbus really that much more clever than Amundson?
  11. If you go with the spare wheel option and the variable boot floor, then you get a skinny 125/70 R18. Spare wheel option with a standard floor you get 205/55 R16. Both steel wheels and limited to 50MPH.
  12. I seem to be in the minority but I think the FL front end is a great improvement on it's predecessor. I have a Scout which we bought new in June. Really rate the LED as well
