  1. Cheers guys is it these I need? Cheaper than the front bulbs! http://my-car-bulbs.co.uk/w16w-955-capless-bulbs
  2. Warning light come up telling me that my rear right brake light has gone. Had a lot of issues (and cost) replacing my front right a few months back http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/321693-need-to-replace-front-left-dipped-beam/ Is a rear brake light any easier?
  3. Right all done. Total bill Local Garage £114 labour and diagnostics and ballast on line £85 = £199 Skoda Price. £96 diagnotics, £200 bulbs and £80 fitting = £376 This sites advice saved me £177 and that the reason I pay my membership. Thanks everyone for help.  :moon:
  4. Put it into local garage and ballast had gone. they had ordered one through dealer at over £200. I asked them to stop it and they are allowing me to buy my own and they will fit. Got one via the link above from HIDs for £85. I had bought the bulbs from them last week for £75 so they are happy for me to send them back. All well should be sorted later in week.
  5. Right been to the Skoda garage. Not the fuse. Booked in for diagnostics but they wanted £90 up front. Booked now into local garage beside house who will test and let me know. Going in Tuesday.
  6. Whats the ballast ? All I had to do was open bonnet and take a plastic cap off the back of the headlight unit and twist and that was it done. No harder than changing a household light.
  7. Trying the simple option in the morning and going to get a fuse, if that don't work i will put into the garage for testing.
  8. Actually are instructions in the manual and as you describe very simple. However...... School boy error......Replaced the bulb and new one didn't work. Then checked the 'broken' one in the working one and its fine so the issue is either electrical or a fuse. Anyone any ideas? Not having any luck of late...............
  9. Jeepers sorry, missed the £75 for a pair, thought it was £75 each. That looks good. Have ordered. Cheers Got 5% for following on Twitter. That will do.
  10. Hi, Looking at bulbs for Skoda http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/321693-need-to-replace-front-left-dipped-beam/ Ok narrowed it down with some help to a pair of D1S Huge variance in prices and bulbs. Anyone used this crowd, seem god value at £50 for Osrams? http://www.xenons4u.co.uk/d1s-bulbs/4-osram-xenarc-d1s-35w-bulb.html
  11. I rang the local garage earlier and they wanted £137 a bulb and £80 install. Are you saying that it is impossible to do yourself. Happy to have a go, I assume they are some instructions in the car manual.
  12. Cheers but begs the question, which one is right???
  13. and to confuse me even more, the 2 websites linked in the other thread refer to 2 different bulbs? the D1S here http://www.hids-direct.co.uk/categories/manufacturer/skoda/superb-hid/2008-present/dipped-beam The D2S here http://www.powerbulbs.com/vehicles/cars/uk-ireland/skoda/superb-hid/2005-onwards/car-headlight-bulbs :wall:
  14. being dumb again, everything in the link still seems to be indicating about £75 each?
  15. Genuinely don't underestimate my blond comment. Any care to direct me here or via pm if it breaks rules as to what I should be buying? Cheers
  16. Correct yes. Halfords then for bulbs and easy to replace via manual?
  17. Xenon or halogen...No idea, how would I find out. For the sake of this pretend I am blond
  18. Warning come up and checked and bulb gone. Is it easy to replace and where is easiest place to buy a bulb on a Sunday or Monday? Got a 10 reg Skoda Superb estate. Cheers
  19. One of the main reason I swapped to 16's as well was that at 18inch rims the tyres were to thin and I live in a country spot and kept getting punctures. Running 16inch rims now and haven't had a puncture from a pot hole since. The 18 inch were a nightmare.
  20. Yes, I have a phantom seat. No swapping of keys or anything bizarre changes in the seat location. Next time it is being serviced i will mention.
  21. Do what i did, buy 16 inch rims, 4 x conti 850's and then watch the mildest Winter in history. Glad to be rid of the 18 inch rims though, we live in the country and they could not cope with potholes.
  22. Its not an issue for me as I never sit in it but my wife keeps complaining that the seats moves position the whole time. I ave noticed this when I get in. Is there some button that needs (un)ticking to stop it?
  23. I put contis on a week ago on Alloys. Car feels better, always hated the 18inch alloys I had. Noticed not change in mpg and no noise difference, maybe quieter? All good.
