Sorry for the llate introduction

Featured Replies

My first post since i joined on the 12th April but have been having a few problems with the VRs. All to do with the Power Steering, it's actually going in to the dealer today so I'm going to get some info from the site to show that the problem isn't uncommon as it's been in once before about 8months ago and they had it for a period on and off for 4 months. Basically they said they'd not done anything as no fault was found, even though it's managed to drive fine for the past 8 months. The problem is back so with a week's worth of warranty left I'm taking it in.

Love the car though, even though the steering problem I've been getting has dampened my spirits a little, i can't drive it enough. I've had my 53 plate Fabia Vrs for just under 12 months now and it's a very exciting drive.

Sorry for the long hello, but there it is. :)

Welcome.

Hello :)

Welcome aboard. :)

Glad you got the problem sorted.

Hiya. You've raised the fault within the warranty, so the dealer has to sort it, saying "we can't find anything" or "but it's out of warranty now" won't work.

Oops, i just re-read that the problem isn't sorted. My bad.

Well I got the car back after the dealer having it for 2 days and being supplied a 1.4 Honda Civic petrol heap of rubbish. I was glad to get back behind the wheel of the VRs I can tell you.

The car seems fine again now, but I'm worried as the garage said they could find no problem or error codes in the diagnostic. Apparently, and i take it with a pinch of Salt but they said they contacted Skoda UK (as the dealer i got it from was Lookers Warrington Honda) and they say if there's no error reported in the diag then there's no fault with the car. So i'm expecting it to happen again at some point, just need to wait as to when!

Thanks for the welcome the site has been very helpful.

Actually, does the Furbie run a pure hydaulic PAS or a variation on an electro-hydraulic? Just that, in the first case, there's nothing electical in the system that could raise a fault code. Even in the second case, if the electrics just run a hydraulic pump to pressurise a reservoir, there may not be anything that could raise a code, particularly if the issue is something like the rack sticking on a burr.

Hello and welcome.
