Friends with Skodas outside of Briskoda?

Featured Replies

I got to wondering last night how many friends I have influenced to buy Skodas:confused:.

The thought came about because I turn 40 next week and am having a BBQ this weekend in the back garden for a load of long term friends.

Anyhow I suddenly realised that when they all arrive the road outside our house could be fairly full of Skodas as in total these people own (as far as I am currently aware):

2 Octavia II 4x4 Estate's (Including mine)

1 Octavia I 4x4 Estate (TDI Left Hand Drive)

2 Fabia TDI Estates (Including mine)

2 Fabia 1.4 16v hatches

So how many friends do you guys have outside of Briskoda that own Skodas?

My mate at work has a Fabia 1.9 tdi and a Felicia 1.9 tdi. An other (now sadly passed on )college had a Fabia vRS and his wife has a Fabia saloon. My dad had a fabia 1.4 petrol hatch back.

My wife ended up buying a Fabia, not so much on my recommendation, but because she didn't like anything else we looked at as much as mine. She thinks it's 100% reliable, although seeing how it's the basis of my technical guides, I can assure you that's not quite the case! ;)

Bless here socks, I showed her the Jezza-in-a-vRS / Hamster-in-a-Cooper clip, and she asked if hers was as fast as her friend's Cooper. I had to take her to one side and explain that hers had a different engine to mine (not all cars are the same underneath, you know ;) ) and so her friend's car was a lot faster... Ah well, she loves it, the pushchair goes in the boot (with the parcel shelf out :o ) and nothing's gone wrong that I haven't been able to fix. Would be nice to see a bit more than 32mpg given the price of fuel at the mo, though... :(

None so far; I was influenced by a hire car, and a mate with a small taxi fleet and a personal vRS though.

I have 2 friends with Skodas outwith here.

Although they are now members, but have known them for over 10 years.

For me, it's ZERO. But I am amazed at how many of my fellow local car club members have gone VAG recently. Saxo to Ibiza Cupra and old Astra GSI to Seat Leon Cupra, being recent examples.

I have a friend down south (not on here) who owns a Fabia vRS. Her husband recently offered to buy her a brand new Audi TT but she opted to keep the Skoda.

I have a few relatives who are considering Skodas for their next car after having a good look at mine though.

Just the 1 for me, although I've tried to get him to join.

One of my youth leaders has a felicia on a p plate but he had that before we got the fabia, its battered to bits but still does the job.

Davy

I have 2 Skoda-owning colleagues who I keep pestering to join the ranks. They haven't as yet - pah!

none

:) Erm...LOTS!

2 at work and the old man, oh and the wife, but she's on here now :)

Well my mum and dad, farther-in-law.

Also best mate Adam who came on the last CZ trip after having been adviced by other members that a Revo was the way to go, He still Grins  Chris and Steve. Also another reason he won't sign up!! as it will cost him too much money.

Apart from recommending Skoda to everyone that will listern, possible had a good change over rate

I've got a mate with an 03 reg Octavia vRS and a W reg Felicia Fun, another with a P reg Felicia GLXi - my old one, a mate in Hungary with a 135RiC rapid, and another in Hungary with 2 135GLi Estelles and a 135 Ric and 2x 136 Rapids.
