strange reving

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a 2002 Octavia VRS that was remapped by revo about 8 months ago. The car has been great:thumbup:

HOWEVER..................

For the past couple of weeks i have noticed something strange with the revs, when i am driving at anything between 40 - 60 MPH and put my foot down in 5th or drop a gear and accelerate the rev's fly up by a couple of thousand revs and then drop back within 2 seconds and carry on up the range as you would expect. This is exaggerated when i have rear passengers or heavy load. I don't think it is the cluch unless slipping under high pressure? Is this normal and i have just not noticed it before? or could there be turbo lag or similar?

Please help

Dave

Most certainly clutch on it's way out :thumbdwn:

Yep, the only way the engine speed can change without the road speed following is if there's a slip somewhere.

Unless you have insane amounts of wheelspin, then it will be the clutch :)
