17 or 18 inch ?

Featured Replies

Yes, I didn't think to include that the speedo already over-reads by about 5%, but you can't tell me the rubber bands on the car in that picture don't affect the ride quality...

Sorry, I was referring to the difference in ride quality from 16's to 17's as in a 45 to 40 profile. Never experienced 18's on a VRS so not in a position to comment.

All I know is my 17's have made the car feel so much more responsive! without any additional discomfort  Its the drop in tyre side wall profile thats done it. On the 16's with a 45 profile it used to fold the rubber over when on the limit and felt a bit squigey. Now its spot on though :) And high speed stability feels better to.

18's rub on the rear when people are in the back, 17's don't

Not strictly true. I have 18" SuperT's on my car and I have driven to the Amsterdam before with a full car and a boot-load of crap without a single issue of rubbing.

Yes a 35 Profile tyre can be abit crashy and its not cheap, but with Eibachs I think it looks bloody amazing! It does not look chavy, or over the top. Alot of people still think it looks rather OE.

I would recommend 18" tyres from my own personal experience! Also 18" SuperT's are alot lighter then the standard Fabia wheels.

heyyyy sorry dont know how to post threads on this thing yet.

just wondered if anybody knows if 18" audi RS4 wheels will fit straight onto a fabia 03 plate saloon and wether any modifications will be needed, and if they don't are there adpators etc etc.

a freind is selling me the wheels, therefore i can get them for a really good price, so any feedback would be appreciated (ASAP) thanks

If you read the thread, it can be done but ride comfort etc is compromised...............

I think that looks ace personally.

I drove with 215/35 18's for two years on my Astra, no problems at all. Falkens were pretty reasonable price wise. 215's on an 8" rim, perfect.

Personally for the Fabia i'd slap some 19's on and stick my fingers up to the lot of you.

lol there's always that too lol

hey thanks for the quick reply :D reallly appreciate it, found out the wheels are the replecas with the two different hold diameters :), so will make life easier :) i understand that road noise etc will be worse, but they llook good :P. not many fabias with the boot on, that are modified so fancy doing something abit different :P thanks again, will post pics up when i have them on.
