Well, the time has come for me to re-shoe my Octavia ( 1 busted tyre valve, 1 slow puncture on a hardly worn in Avon ZV1 and two tyres almost on legal limit)

I'm looking at two choices.

Give i'm in rochdale (wettest place in england!) probably not a good idea then........

Not that i mash the accelerator that much....(45K, tyres all original bar the Avon, a large puncture replacement)

I just want something relatively quiet, but that will give me good grip with decent wear.

Thoughts on Protex?

I wouldn't use it. It makes permanent puncture repair problematical if not downright impossible. The tyre dealer I use will not repair tyres with sealant in them.

Most of the tyre sealants are really messy if you get punctures repaired. Like Denis has mentioned my local tyre place won't touch them if it's been used.

Of course, the idea beihnd them is that the sealant repairs the puncture, thus rendering a repair unnecessary..........
