Stealth Shelf

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I am thinking of buy a stealth shelth from auto acoutics but I have in the past had some that look good but don't fit that well. Not from auto acoutics but from other motor stores.

Has anyone got one in there car? Or even bought one from this company?

What are they like? Need them for my 6x9's and too lazy to make one:O

Cheers

The speakers won't fit in the OEM location then, I take it?

Two comments:

- do a search on 6x9 but to summarise you will get better sound from other options.

- You would , IMHO, want to declare the stealth shelf to your insurer and also make sure it fits very well and is nice and strong. I've seen details of a claim where the shelf came forward, hit a passenger in the car who is now brain damaged.

The insurance won't pay out and last I heard it was getting messy as the driver was being gone after for compensation due to the now life long care that may be needed.

Not saying don't do it, just check things out before you do.

Have you thought about circular components in the standard fabia shelf with a small bit of MDF to make speaker rings between the speaker and the OEM parcel shelf.

Extend it to make a bigger piece of MDF for more deadening.

auto acoustics are very good i had one of there shelfs in my old car and the fit was perfect and quality was exelent.

cant coment on price as it was free :D

i had it in a citroen c4 coupe and they didnt make then for that car because it was new out at the time so they used my car as a template and i got a free shelf out of it.

if i was to get another stealth shelf it would be from auto acoustics otherones just seem cheep
