Fabia Estate 1.4 tdi acceleration???

Featured Replies

The engine block is different due to the fact that there is an extra cyllinder and the bore is obviously greater as it has more capacity. Those in the know in the motor trade say that there is hardly ever a problem with the engine block for the 1.9tdi but they say the same cannot be said for the 1.4tdi unit! Thats what the mechanics think.

I think you will find that the bore and stroke are the same for both engines. If you multiply 1.9 by 3/4 you get 1.4 which isn't just a coincidence.

The bore and stroke are the same on both engines (79,5mm bore and 95,5mm stroke) The extra capacity on the 1,9 comes from the extra cylinder. They both have a cast iron block and an alloy head. :)
