Just wondering how many members have had to send their Xboxes in for repair.

What problems have you had?

I'm now on repair number three:thumbdwn:

1. Red ring of death.

2. Screen freezing.

3. Just returned today and guess what........the screen is still freezing:mad:

Ive had to buy a second console just to keep playing.

Xbox number 2 here.

None :)

Almost a year of happy gaming!

im still on my second 360 its been more reliable than my ps3 :D

I also know of a red ring of death and a further failure that became a red ring of death after he cooked it in a cupboard. :D

I also got red ring of death and only just got it back today so fingers crossed no more issues

Have added another option for "none"

We have had a XBOX360 since launch and its always worked fine. :D

Drive failure. Twice.

I got mine on launch day and its been back to M$ twice.

Mines a fairly old one that I bought scond hand and it's had no faults since I bought it!

Launch day console that worked perfect for well over a year then gave the 3 red lights of Death.. Cant complain too much tho as it was returned in working order within a week with a free month XBox Live voucher :D

Oi, I want that one back:rofl: I've had nothing but trouble with the new ones.

That must be coming up for two years old Dave:eek:

Glad to hear it's still running ok:thumbup:

Mine is about a year old. Occasionally it freezes up on Forza 2 if you pan though the car slect screen to fast. Think its more a game bug than a Xbox issue though. Other than that faultless, great console.

i had one break and got it replaced(red ring of death) and had no other issues since :)

current one was replaced feb 2007 and still working like new :)

i think my firt one was 12-18months old but not sure tbh.

I'm on my bloody third!!

I've only had mine about a month so I can't really say. Father-in-law is on his third in as many years, however he does have 8-10 hour sessions on it at a time.

mine works fine... lauch day console.

never used verticle, never used in a closed cabinet. no probs at all.

WEll, I've voted other because I was playing COD4 on my Dec 2006 Premium in February 2007:mad::mad: and when I went to stop the game and return to the dashboard, there were all sorts of horrible grinding noises:eek: from the disc tray.

Then it wouldn't close the tray properly, so I just bought an Elite which seems fine apart from being sooooooooooo fecking noisy when just watching a film or whatever (i.e. no disc spinning):finger:

I still haven't attempted to send the premium back to MS:O because I reckon they will charge me for a repair as the warranty is only for RROD failures:(

Has anyone sent their 360 back with a failure other than RROD and had it repaired FOC????? If so, what did you say to MS on the phone when you rang them to get it collected?

How old is your console? I would of thought everything would be covered in the first year of warranty. I know the warranty was extended for the red light issue.

I am in the process of sending my console back for screen freezing (second time) but it's still in warranty.

How old is your console?

Well, it's now about 17 months old, but at the time of the drive failure, it was 13 months old!!!

That's a shame, I would still phone MS, you never know your luck;)

Got mine for christmas 2006 so coming up to 18 months old and not had any probs as yet..... Touch wood!!!! It's locked up a couple of times over that time but nothing a quick reset hasn't cured.

I took out an extended 3 year warranty just in case i do have any problems.

Cheers

Dave.

Got my console back again today (number 4).

I've got a replacement unit which so far is running ok.

Looks like we may have got there in the end eh Microsoft:thumbup:

Watch this space:D

had mine since 2006, it broke last month, RROD.

sent it away on a monday and had it back and fixed by wednesday the next week. 9 day turnaround in total is pretty damn good.

i was worried they wouldn't fix it cos it has been modded to play "backups," so obviously my warranty seal has been tampered with, but it came back fixed and still able to play "backups" so i was chuffed.

My Xbox 360 was fine.. I had to vote 'Other' as it didn't seem to run that good after the polo caught on fire and it was in the boot.....

:(
