Nearly black, it is actually a very dark blue/grey.

Normally I chose a dominant colour from the image and use a much darker version of that colour for the border. The border should never take attention away from the image, but can effectively and subtly enhance it.

I’m currently on my lappy, so the border tends to look quite black. I’ll get round to lining it up properly one day……………..I bet you have a colour correcting bit of kit;)
