2 CD's Stuck In Symphony!

Featured Replies

Before I load my CD changer I like to put the CD in the in-dash unit just to have a quick flick through the tracks to see if its any good. Upon doing this yesterday I lost track of whether or not I had taken the previous CD out of the Symphony unit so I pressed eject and nothing came out, the display said "NO DISC" so I continued and put my next CD in for testing. This was the fatal mistake. Although the dispalay said "NO DISC" there actually was CD in already. I now have two discs stuck in the in-dash CD player. The CD player will play the bottom stuck disc fine, but when I press eject to try and release the CD's it makes an awefull noise and nothing comes out!

Has this happened to anyone else? Or has anyone got any tips on getting the discs out? I think I would feel a bit of a div going to Skoda with it. Might just wait until another problem pops up with the car and mention this as a secondary problem to my local Skoda dealer.

I had the same thing with a sony HU.

Pull the Headunit out, and remove the top cover. You should see the cd mechanism, and be able to gently free the disks.

I did the excact same thing but was too embarassed to even post it on here let alone take it to the dealer! I did it the day i left to come over to nigeria (for work not a holiday ) so i'll try the same and see how i get on when i get home :)

its possible you may only be able to get the top one out. If the lower one wont budge, then after you get the top one off put the radio back together and try to use the eject button to remove the other.

Also dont expect the 2nd disk to come out in a playable state, the playing surface will have been damaged as it passed over the other disk.
