You might wanna check your air filter too......

If it's clogged up with crap then even though you've got a PD160 intake fitted, the engine won't be getting the benefit.

A new air filter is iro £10 and probably worth swapping if your car hasn't been serviced for a while (i know the recommended interval is something like 12,000 miles but when i changed mine last week it was caked in crap and bits of dead leaves!!!!!)

Hi I have a green cotton filter in the car only been in two months and it was clean when I bought it of a fellow briskodian. I have done what you say in driving to 4000rpm and giving it a good clean out and I never realised it smoked so much, defo going to get a fuel additive.

You need to clean these every 5k or so. I do mine about every 2 months (Which is between 5 and 6k).

Don't just get any fuel additive. Forte is good enough to make the effort, trust me

Might be a strange one but is the green cotton filter fitted properly??

I know from experience with mine there not the best fitting things, mine on one ocasion actaully slipped down into the air box creating a 'chavvy' induction noise and it piled smoke out the back, maybe worth a clean and a refit to make sure it's not this

Never thought of that it was a fellow briskodian that fitted it, will have a look when it is light again and see whats what.

Also your 59 mpg is worrying me.

Clean and refit airfiler, fill up with forte and some Shell V-power or similar and give it a beasting :D:rofl:

Also use some Millers Diesel Sport 4 continuously to keep it running sweet

59mpg was my trip to aberdeen the best I have seen out of the car. currently averaging about 38to 40mpg in town at present.
