Reverse light/switch AGAIN !

Featured Replies

Re - Fabia 1.2 Ambiente 54 plate.

Hi all - again - apologies for same question/s as from previous thread, but am in need of some advice again re ...... http://briskoda.net/forums/fabia/help-required-reversing-light-warranty-issue/97863/

Been a few months now since switch was replaced under SUk warranty, but it seems to be starting to fail already :thumbdwn:

When reverse is selected, the light tends to be intermittent - hold the gear lever over with some pressure and lights come on - let go, start reversing and the lights go out altogether!!

Have called the Yorkshire dealer that fitted the switch, only to be told that as the car is now out of warranty, they will charge £40+vat to inspect and diagnose, prior to any work that is carried out on this problem :eek:

Surely if it is a case of the switch not having been tightened into the gearbox, or again another faulty switch, then surely this is to covered by the fact that it was replaced under warranty a mere 2-3 months ago??

Any ideas & comments much appreciated - rgds, John.

Either another faulty switch or an issue inside the gearbox.

If I remember correctly, parts replaced under warranty are only covered until the end of the warranty period, even if that means only one day!
