Potential of new CR TDi

Featured Replies

ANyone seen the new concept Audi A3 Sporthatch with a 2l CR TDI engine giving 221bhp. With that potential the new CR engine could be a cracker (assuming DPF can handle it etc.).

Excellent Audi's now come Pre Crashed into the halfords ripspeed section.

Regardless of how good the engine is, if it looks like that I can't see them selling too many to traditional Audi buyers.

Oh god are they still going to have that dreaded DPF ? Can,t they think of something else instead thats more reliable?

Pretty sure DPF's are going to be a requirement on most diesels for Euro 5 emmision regulations.

I hope it don,t apply to all CR TDi,s:thumbdwn:

I hear that "REVO" test one of the new Audi's and it had better then 190 BHP in STOCK form!

Yes, I was reading somewhere about a remapped "170bhp" that actually produced over 180bhp in stock tune, but the the tuner was calculating the % power improvement based on the theoretical "170", not the actual 180+ ! This made their improvement appear much larger than it actually was.

I imagine the "bumometer" rating of the (detectable) seat of the pants performance improvement would have been somewhat disappointing if you didn't notice this sleight of hand in the fine print :( You can prove anything you like with statistics as long as you are creative enough :)
