Just got it back from kwik fit as i took it for a re gas but they are saying its not working because they think the compressor is knackered. Is there any quick way to diagnose the aircon system? Its not a leak so i'm not sure the dye test will work.

I had a Golf in today that Kwik Fit has regassed and it had to much oil(nearly 40ml over), and had hydraulic locked the compressor and knackered it.

Besides if they have a air con machine they should be able to tell you exactly whats wrong.

They cannot diagnose apparently, only re gas :(

Ha you mean they dont know how to use the equipment they have. Need to have a quick fault code check and then see if your getting 12v and earth at the two pin plug on the compressor.
