Holy cr@p!

Can't ever see that being right again :thumbdwn:

Steve

I agree!!!! If you really wanted to fix it you could re-shell it........

Yea, i'd say that was f**ked.

Looks like an elephant sat on it!

Naaa that will polish out :D

I have to agree tho it would take some serious work to get that back on the road!

To compare, this was my car after a pretty horrific coming together with some welsh scenery. This was a cat B....

Mine

"Cat C" write off

was going to post this up the other night, would suprise me if its a cat C, the sellers prob trying to pull a fast one....

Surely has to be broken up for parts. Would need big money to sort surely.

The "passenger safety cell" is compromised. Only way would be to start with a new shell....... unless people still do cut-and-shuts??

That car was a members on here, i think he hit a tree. after skidding on a corner.

Cat C My ****

Nah, sorry, the sat on by an elephant sounds better....

I wouldn't want it.

that will never see the road without being reshelled, the back quarter-roof is too badly bent.

i dont know what the different cats are for damage but surely its just uneconomical, either that or to reshell it is less than the actual value but more than the value the insurance company will pay for a repair, like 60% or whatever it is.

i'll take it, lol

And another one's gone and another one's gone....another one bites the dust!!

Well, I wouldn't have imagined a 60k mile fabia vRS, 3 years+ old would be deemed a Cat C if the only way to repair it would be a new shell. Don't think it's economically viable at all.

I'd pay £700 for it (in my opinion thats 10% of value with no damage) and break it for bits and bobs.

Do you need anymore bits and bobs?

Well, a spare engine would be nice, but I would probably aim to recover the £700 by selling bits on - interior £500, airbag "kit" £400, front end parts, who knows. :D Mongrel breakers Ltd. :D [goes off to companies house to see if registered yet :D]

I want better than vRS seats in mine.... (eventually :o)

I don't know about it not really being a Cat C......

OK, so it's a VW Passat, but i totally destroyed the entire passenger side front, all the way to the A-pillar......wheel and brakes shorn off, suspension collapsed, plus all the metal damage, missing bits of electrics......

Insurance wrote it off, turns out from a DVLA search, it's was recorded as a Cat C repairable, but Insurer decided against it.

Pics of my motor for comparison:

Will that buff out?

I think it might......

Slightly lacking in a yard, expertise, etc, and in a full time job. :o Oh well. :D

between your Mk5 Golf GTi seats and my Mk5 Golf GTi alloys we'll nearly have a VAG car :P

Did it start out like the Rover in Father Ted when he tries to hammer out a small dent??;):D
