Featured Replies

A friend came to see me today, in chatting he asked about what car i get next............i told him it might be a diesel..........he then said he knew someone with a Scooby that runs on LPG.

I thought Turbo cars couldn't run LPG?

Why would you think that?

You can run diesels on LPG, too.

I've been told that tfsi engines can't run on LPG... or something about multipoint injection cars won't run on LPG!!

There's a heat management issue as there's no residual fuel to aid cooling the combustion chamber, exhaust valves or turbo.

In terms of Octane rating, it's something like 115 though, so it likes compression/boost and advance and resists detonation. Which is a good thing on a turbo car.

I think you'll find Devonutoia runs a Fabia diesel with lpg. rather than replacing the diesel it works with it and is more of a power thing rather than saving money. You would have to ask him the ins and outs of it all though
