Help Please unable to hold boost

Featured Replies

Hi All,

My engine is unable to hold boost pressure. The turbo spools up but then the power backs off. It has just happened on the way into work this morning.I think that it may be the the brand new standard boost valve, although have had a new MAF. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Does the car sound rough at all when running or does it sound quite normal?

It might be one of the coil packs thats gone as thats what happened when one of mine went

The car sounds normal on tickover & does not run rough just no full boost

Do you have a boost gauge to find out how much boost your getting

Dont have a boost gauge but have sorted the problem now. It was the the old Secondary Air Pump system at fault again! The driving rain on motorway has caused one of the Air Pump inlet pipe connectors to work loose giving an air leak:eek:. Sick of this Secondary Air Pump System will remove it completely if I have time as it is just an afterthought that has never worked reliably:thumbdwn: Those plastic pipes are way too brittle! Reckon my engine will be more reliable, will get proper vacuum & with the weight saving more performance

Ahh well least you have got it sorted thats the main thing
