anti rollbar swap

Featured Replies

ive stumbled across a mk4 golf 4 motion anti roll bar. its the early one with the plastic colars on, will it fit my 2002 52 plate octy vrs ?

part number is, 1jo 411 305 aa.

Not sure on its diameter compared to the vRS one but you would also need clamps and bushes. But why would you want one with plastic collars anyhow?

the bar has turned up dirt cheap so thought i would as if i fits or not

already got the clamps and bushes and drop links which i bought to change before i discovered it was the collars at fault with my car

IIRC it wont fit as it for the 4 motion.

I know they are listed as two separate bars for 4wd and 2wd

What I mean is the collars and clamps will be different for a different diameter bar. The 4x4 arb should fit the vRS as they use the 4x4 front strut arangement with the links that fix to the damoer not the wishbone.

I wouldn't fit if its a front bar with out upgrading the rear first as all you will get is understeer and very unpredictable handling.

Whitline rr adj bars are only £130 ish and if you fit that first it will transform the behaviour of the car in a good way (more stable less twitchy and less understeer) then or at the same time fit a frt one.
