Seat recommendations

Featured Replies

As some might know ive had some probs with my drivers seat :(....basically it doesnt tilt enough and go low enough to the floor!..skoda have now told me after 9 months of asking that the seats in the early models of Fab RS sit lower in the car and have more tilt action!!....so now to comabt the aches and pains that the seat gives me im looking to replace the two front seats! does anybody have any recommendations as to what to put in there with as little fuss as possible? and preferably something in a nice leather;)

suelry out of 74 views somebody has a view on an aftermarket seat???

k:)

How about something from a TT ?

Or Seat Leon Audi S3/4.

Not sure how easily they would all fit, and indeed how much they would cost.

I dont really have any knowledge of aftermarket seats, most seem to be proper sports seats which i'm sure you're not keen on splashing out on.

Or an Ibiza FR/Cupra or polo GTi?

thanks jonny:).....am really looking for something that wont take too much bodging or ******ising to get in!. i know that whatever i get il have to get some subframes, but with all the seats out there like recaro, sparco and the like was wondering which was the best value for money and best quality.

Cheers

Kit:)

Ibiza n polo seats SHOULD be a direct fit (i think lol)

That would be handy.

Polo seats are nice.

Then again, they may be the same, just re-trimmed different.

Recaros from a Mk4 Golf GTI?

Recaros from a Mk4 Golf GTI?

Very comfy seats they are !

Seat Ibiza seats are a big pile of ****e (except for the Ibiza Cupra seats, which are almost the same as vRS seats). Please, don't do them. :o That is according to my back, of course.

Having had a cupra and an FR i think they were very comfy.........vRS ones i must admit are just as good (probably coz they're roughly the same lol lol lol)

Why not get a pair of front seats from an earlier VRS and get them re-trimmed in leather. At least you know they will be a direct fit and Skoda have already said they sit lower and tilt more.

Bound to be plenty available from breakers yards.

HTH.

So what are the difference between early/late seats then ?

I don't know but the OP said that Skoda told him there were differences.

Must be something to do with the runners and seat frame mechanism.

Hmm. interesting.

Mine is a 53 plate and i always found that the seat is quite high even at it's lowest setting.

Mine is an 05 and i think its quite high.

Could you not just get the runners and sub frame from the earlyer models and swap them over?

according to skoda the early ones sit lower to the floor on the lowest setting and the seat base tilts back more! Now if the ones from a mrk 1 octy would fit they would be champion as they were super comfortable when i had one....but they dont!!

The early fab seats dont fit in the later models!!:( according to skoda that is!!....but if there is one thing ive learnt from owning skodas is dont believe what they tell you!!!

Do you know any members near you with an early Fabia Vrs so you can try their seat in your car to see what it's like?

That's certainly the case with the ones in my 54-plate vRS vs. my wife's 51-plate Comfy, but I always assumed it was just because of the different bolster designs. Then again, while both rock if they've been moved forward/aft, I can get the seat in mine to lock solid, whereas my wife's always rocks a tiny bit no matter what I do - maybe the design change had something to do with that...???

My seat does rock slightly now you mention it.

yeh but the seat in the older models wont fit in the newer ones!!.....it sits nice and solid......i just want it lower to the floor and more tilt!
