I'm private hire driver and recently bought my own vehicle - an 03 Octavia Elegance 1.9 TDI PD 130.

With the recent ridiculous hikes in the price of diesel, I'm seriously considering using biodiesel, which seems to be available locally for 85.5p per litre - obviously I could save a fortune if able to use 100% biodiesel. However, I am very wary - the agency I work for has warned drivers using their fleet cars (mostly mondeos) that under no circumstances must they use biodiesel! :eek:

I believe Skoda and the rest of the VAG group is one of the few manufacturers to endorse the use of biodiesel, however, does anyone know of any issues, or have experience of using biodiesel, with my particular model and have any advice? Thanks.

For what its worth I had an A4 1.9 TDi PD130 previously and used every other tank Biodiesel with no adverse effects for 40k...

I had checked the owners manual and it was Ok in there and just to be on the safe side I held onto each diesel receipt...

I think any problems just depend on how the station owner keeps their tanks and could happen with any fuel..
