Haven't even recieved the car yet but already not jazzed with customer service!

Featured Replies

I'll warn myself if you like? Pat don't offer advice or criticism re ordering a new car and if you ever do again don't get into a war of words if the OP calls you names, that do?

lol, it means impressed or happy amanda.

So pat, how is calling me a 'tool' beneficial, oh high and mighty one??!

One rule for the people in charge and one for posters as far as the administrators are concerned, obviously!

Ah I should have guessed with your used name you would now what Jazzed meant, I thought it might be a euphoniyism:D

don't bother replying. you bore me.

There are big hang ups with regards to mods and dealers fitting them. If the part is LHD then its very doubtfull its type approved for RHD, if an accessory doesnt have type approval (much like the leather seat covers for Fabia vRS with airbags a while back) dealers arent allowed to fit it. Even donw to something as trivial as a RHD car wont have been crash tested with one fitted.

Urban Dictionary: jazzed

I guess if we got out more Amanda then we wouldn't have to resort to t'interweby thing to find out

lol. While you're here amanda, do you think the waterproof liner would be sturdy enough for a boxer who's a bit mental?

Also not quite sure what the gruntled quote means.. little help?

I have just got back from a bike ride to somewhere near Warrington (I got lost a bit):P

Is boxing wet? If so it will be good, but you will have to bend it a bit to use the lashing hooks.

amanda is actually very helpful, not just sarcastic. Lummox's response is the sort of sensible advice I was after, not the bitter ramblings of some jumped up IT geek.

Get the picture, nerd?

nice! I'm only aware of foxy boxing being wet, but my dog hasn't seen that sport unfortunately. lol

Bloody hell ‘foxy boxing?’ :confused:I am entering into a whole new world. I think I need a lie down

Here is another bit then re the grill.

Anything that is to be painted by a dealer is usually supplied in a primer. This is flatted back, cleaned then sprayed (like wing mirrros for example). The grill however is not a primer surface and is a shiny chrome. This takes a lot of work to get paint to adhere to, and even after that there is no gurantee that 12 months down the line it wont look like the car has been driven through Beirut. If someone here sprays thier own one then they dont provide a warranty for it and they have no come back, a dealer doesnt have this luxuary. Also if a propper bodyshop is doing it then they will mix the paint for the job, this can only be done in a minimum ammount so you may have to pay for 1/2 litre. You may get ucky and they will be painting something else in the same colour at the same time, but they cant for health and safety reasons keep cans of paint hanging around for the odd jobs.

What is this locking mechanism?

wow this is an interesting thread.

I can see both sides, however in the commercial world profit is key.

Alas, they've done the hard part and sold you your car.

If you'd sorted out all the issues before parting with the cash you'd have been in a stronger position.

Margins are tight and they haven't got time to faff around with issues which take a lot of time but make them little money. It's not right but it's a fact.

My only other observation is that it's "not what you say, it's how you say it".

Clearly you're frustrated (some would say you're expecting too much or being unreasonable).

Maybe the thing to do is cancel the Skoda and go for another car.....

To be honest, I just wanted some reasonable answers to my gripes, which lummox has pretty much delivered. It's nothing to do with me being 'precious' or whatever, but i feel some of the remarks being made are unhelpful and as such not required.

To add insult to injury, i've now been given an 'official' warning for namecalling, but I want to see the moderator say that the person who called me names has also been penalised. I don't think this will happen though because the other person was also a moderator and may well be shown to be above the same rules and regulations. Unless something is said, either here or to me in private, obviously i'm not as important as a moderator and can't be hurt by namecalling!

not happy!

Please stop trying to stir, the originall post I made was in the spirit of the way the thread was going, ie if you wanted a coloured grill you were best off doing it 3rd party, the mud guard (given that you say it comes with a 3 year warrenty ) should be ok, but imo if you were bothered about the quality for £40 you could have got one thrown in and finally if you had asked for the lock from the dealer they would have seen if it was orderable on the system or not, (asking SUK after the order is made imo is the wrong way to go about it. If you read your earlier posts you have allready called one member a

bit of a tw*t.
calling me a spanner and me calling you a Tool is neither here nor there but even after a friendly warning you choose to continue, if you have an issue please take it to pm with ANY moderator (names in red) or carry on as you are and loose the use of the resource that is Briskoda.

Thanks Andrew

I'm also sorry for calling someone a bit of a twit, how callous of me.

I'm not sure you'll get the best from this forum with your current tone :)
