Dump valve problems

Featured Replies

Hello all. I have a problem! When I bought my octy vRS MK1 it had a baily dump valve fitted now it kept on throwing up a fault and causing the car to go in to limp wristed mode! I had it removed (problem gone). Now doing a bit o research the valve must have been a DV34 not good for cars with air flow meters, no wonder f'in dealer removed it free of charge and returned it to stock!.

This is where the questions start! I have just had the car remapped and I am loving the torque and extra power the octy is the car that it should be anyway, am assuming the remap increases boost and am wondering

1) is the standard recirculating valve up to the job

2)should i buy a bailey dv36 will it increase logjevity of turbo?

3) is the dv36 easy to fit?

4) help!!!

Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to comment.

Hello and welcome to Briskoda...

I have an Octy 1 VRS with a DV36 fitted and it runs fine.

Coil packs are the only reason I have encountered LIMP mode..

Hope this helps..

Welcome :)

Hi and Welcome. Most people go for the Forge recirc valve with a remap.

If you still want the dump valve sound, the Forge Split-r is the one to go for. It dumps half atmospherically (for the sound) and half back into the air box (to stop the limp mode coming up) They cost about £125 new I think.

Apologies Ben and Thank you SCVRS my bad. have just checked my receipts again and I believe there was a Bailey fitted to my Fiat Uno turbo but the one fitted to the Octy is the aforementioned Forge....thats the one to go for as I said no problems except coil packs..
