Discretion is always the better part of valour.

Countless number of times I've said 'I should have gone' - and didn't and circumstances proved otherwise.

Why I'm still here - much to Davie's 'discomfort':P

lol

You think that's funny - wait till you hear about the Nexen tyres.

No, no, I mustn't :o

yeah thanks val!!!! GIT! lol

could i not just weight down the car a bit then lol ?

I suppose you could but then you would need to get the weight in the right place and then your talking 150kg is which is easily the weight of two people which wouldn't do your fuel economy or performance any favours.

The effect of these would probalby show in a few ways. The springs will be too stiff and there wont be enough give in them to work when they should you would have a lot more under and oversteer as they can't abosrb the engery transfered when cornering. This also means instead of the suspension giving when you hit a bump the car will, making it uncomfortable to drive and increasing the likelyhood of the wheel being off the floor which you really don't want. Thats all before you factor in the extra strain and stress on the other components caused by the springs. :(

isnt this the case wen u get lowerin springs anyways? coz they would be a lot stiffer etc? i dont know

lol! haharr

Well, on the grounds of safety I feel I must.

Way back around 1912 there was a truly wondrous ship built - twas the Titanic.

And, all around it was bedecked with rubber to save it from minor impacts.

So, the salvage guys came in - ripped off the rubber. Sold it on - and the guys who turned it into tyres called em Nexen - as in Next One  cos they knew they'd be seeing them again :D

i dont know

Exactly - so please do some real research and make sure you get it right else you're gonna end up with a car that a/ at best is not gonna please you b/ is gonna be downright dangerous.

.............gettin the feelin i'm bein picked on here........................hhhmmmmm...........

lol oooo, its cool, just a lil gutted if the spring issue wont work,

Some might be a little stiffer (And progressivly wound) but not that much I think thats more the effect of the reduced travel available to the shock. Lowering springs decrease the ride height, lowering the centre of gravity but if you get the proper kit they will be intended for use in your vehicle and not an unknown quantity. I think the VRS springs would be too stiff.

I don't have the cognative capacity to explain the physics ATM so I am sure someone else will pick this up for me when there is daylight!

I must sleep...

shhh the wife might be watchin lol

Best of luck with springs - if not then sell them on. I'm sure there'll be takers.

shhh the wife might be watchin lol
