Stranded

Featured Replies

Hi

I have an 04 Fabia 1.4 TDI, 35000 miles. A few weeks ago it started getting awkward, taking a few turns of the key to start and it conked out once at traffic lights but restarted with no warning lights showing on dash. Then 50 miles from home, it would not start and as I tried, the glow plug light instead of going off started flashing. As I have a roadside assistance package I called for help which duly arrived. The oil level was low and oil was added, car started with glowplug light flashing continuously and engine management light on. Was told to get car checked up on computer but once going car drove well.

Took to garage where not convinced problem was low oil but event wiped from system. Car drove well for a few days then again wouldn't start, although 24 hours later did with glow plug light flashing and engine management light on, both yellow. Booked into garage, new part fitted,(not described as ECU but some other letters)told everything fine. 12 hours later wouldn't start same warning lights, got it going to work car park. Tried to start again, nothing doing but now RED oil light as well. Been on holiday for a week so have just left it. Want to get back to garage but he's on holiday as well.

Thanks for reading this long tale of woe but any ideas welcome

Diagnostic check will be your best and most economical place to start.

You may well find a local Briskodian with the suitable equipment who will help out. Might be worth putting your location in your bio.
