Clean my Alloys

Featured Replies

Well had the car 3 weeks now and want to clean my alloys.

I bought some Simoniz Spray Gel for alloys.Spray on leave for 1 min and rinse off.Do you think this is a bit harsh for a cleaner? has anyone tried it?

I don,t want to remove any coating on them i just want them clean so i can polish them to keep protected.

pour some onto the floor if it foams up then it's acid so bin it, if not you should be ok.....

I use stardrops diluted about 10:1 or 20:1 in a 1L spray bottle with water.

Stardrops is about 70p and the spray bottle £1.

Works really well and you just wipe over with your mitt or an old toothbrush for heavier staining and it works well.

Non accidic and cheap :)

sorry just a quick question where do you get stardrops from??

I normally just spray with snow foam, let that get to work and then hose off. Then i clean it with a mitt and a brush for inside. :)

I've always used that "hot rims" stuff you can get in halfords, its about 8 quid for a spray bottle, works a dream.

Might have to give that one a try... maybe after i've had all the burnt on brake dust sorted though!

Just use it anything up to neat with an old toothbrush if you have burnt on brake dust :)

I used diluted viro-sol over the weekend and it worked an absolute treat, cut straight through the caked on brake dust and road crap.
