Having a real tough time ordering VRS ARB

Featured Replies

How Do chaps,

Trying to order a VRS ARB from claybank skoda in manchester but they are unable to resolve the part number 6Q0 411 303 AE (with bushes) or 6Q0 411 303 AC (on it's own) They are saying it's been superceeded by a new part number but for them to figure it out they need a chassis number (obviously not owning a VRS, I don't have one!)

has anyone else had this problem and been able to locate the new item? I bought one of these around a year ago for my PD100 fabia elegance estate using the AE part number with no problems.

Can anyone shed some light on the situation?

Thanks in advance,

Gaz

Surely they could just take a chassis number from a vrs on the forecourt no?

Thought they just needed the number plate anyway?

Etka, which is what they will be using resolves parts from the VIN number, not the reg.

Saying that though, I have been looking through the parts catalogue. I have found the ARB, but it says that the part number is unknown.

I managed to find a reg on the net, but the software they use to convert reg to chassis number isn't working. Someone has very kindly given me their chassis number, so I shall see when I go in tomorrow if I get anywhere with it.

I'd avoid Claybank like the plague to be honest, based on past experience with ordering parts in. Horners aren't much better I'm afraid to say.

I have alternative sources these days, but if I were you I'd be tempted to go with Steve's offer above

I've not had any problems in the past, but obviously if this falls through I shall be sending a PM! :) Was hoping to get it this weekend so I could change all the suspension over. Doesn't look like that's going to happen now. :thumbdwn:

Ok so I finally got the ARB. It now uses the part number 6q0 411 303 AN (for just the bar)

Are you sure it's not 6Q0 411 303 AA?

AN is what it says on the bar, I've measured it with a digital micrometer from work and it's just over 20mm thick including the paint. Like I said, the chap at claybank said the part number has changed (again) and this is probably the first batch of the bars with the new part number.
