Hi,

I just collected my VRS from its 2 year service and the work notes say Castrol Longlife Oil.

I queried this with the person and they said the longlife oil is the same as what needs to be put into a PD engine.

Can anyone confirm if this is true?

Its over and above what the engine needs so therefore fine.

Its not uncommon. At the Skoda dealer I used to work at to save on having two bulk tanks we just used longlife oil in all PD's regardless of service regime and then discounted the cost of the oil.
