How do I find my engine number!?

Featured Replies

Hi guys. I recently bought a 10 year old Octavia estate, 2.0 litre petrol. My brother advised I need a cambelt change as no record of this in last 5 years. Tried ordering one online but the supplier needs engine number. Cant see it anywhere in engine bay. Dont have new V5 yet so am stuck. Can anyone tell me which kit to buy or advise how I find engine number, or identify it some other way.

Thanks in advance!

mines in the boot under the mat on a paper sticker the other should be in the engine compartment failing that it should be on your log book

The ful engine number shoud be on a barcode type sticker on the cambelt cover.

If its not its stamped on the block next to the front of the gearbox bell housing. Good luck seeing it though.

Thanks for your help guys! I never thought to look under the mat! Much appreciated

I would guess at AQY for the engine code.
