HID for Skoda Laura TDI

Featured Replies

I have recently purchased a Skoda Laura here in India. I am looking to change both the dipped & main beams to HID bulbs. Was looking to find out if I could get some info on the same.

I have seen a Philips Xenstart D1S bulb available with a inbuilt ballast. Was wondering if this would be a straight fit for my dipped beam without the need to mount a ballast & any wiring.

Was looking for a similar arrangement for the main beam too where the bulb could be housed inside the existing rear plastic housing without the need to make any modifications.

Would appreciate views & any info. Thx.

What is a "Laura" ?????

Nice idea. That way you can be absolutely sure no oncoming traffic can see a thing.

It's full of these conversions round here, some people even have xenon foglights (which they don't forget to turn on in clear weather), makes driving at night... interesting.

One of these Product Overview on Skoda Laura

Octavia must mean something slightly offensive in one of the India Languages:rolleyes:

The MK I is the Octy and the MK II a Laura in India

HIDS4U Ltd - UK's Number 1 HID Conversion Kit Specialists is where i got my HID Kit from. Everything you need comes in the box and it all fits (with a bit of manipulation) into the big platic cover on the back of the light unit.

You will need to get the ultimate kit to stop you getting a bulb failure light on the dash board.

Not sure if they ship to india but they might

you can get the available H3 kits in india.... If you are in bombay, there is a great wholesaler market near opera house... PM me if you need more info... I am the Gujarat dealer for Skoda India.
