Penny Wise Lease Companies

Featured Replies

Just got myself a DSG octavia and even though it has done 93k it is in immaculate condition and drives superbly and feels more solid than my VRS which has not turned 50k yet. The car has a full Skoda history from the same dealer however when I rang them to confirm whether the oil and filter had been changed on the gearbox at 40k and 80k they tell me it has never been done. So all I can think is that as it is an ex company car the lease company did not want to spend the £170.00 a pop thinking that the box will only start to give bother after they sell it. So my problem is do I get the oil and filter done now and hope for the best or just cut my losses and move it on.

Change it for sure along with the filter

If you only bought it recently and it has been sold with a full manufacturers service history you may have a case under the description of goods section of the trading laws.

yes, surely you can only state full manufacturers service history if you follow their specific schedule.

I'd expect them to do the change for free and even consider a good will gesture as it's missed one change out....but then I am an awkward get...;-)

And? Unless you mean you're in the trade yourself, the car was still not "as described".
