True Horsepower...

Featured Replies

Have you ever thought about the engine that it might be more powerful than the numbers that they say? Someone told me that he 1.4 engine 16V is 108Bhp.

What do you think of this?

Most VAG engines will produce above rated figures TDI 130 engines usually produce closer to 145 when run in.... mine has 149 :D

this is usually because of the different enviroment conditions. they can affect a engines performance dramatically.. turbocharged engines like the TDI and 1.8T are badly affected by the ambient air temperature and heatsoak, where the engine electronics reduce boost and power output to prevent detonation and premature engine failure

Of course as a "real horse" only develops 0.6 bhp Origins of BHP you might have a real horsepower of 180! :D:D

My old 1.4 16v had 116bhp. :D Of course though, it wasn't standard! ;)

My so called PD 130 produces 158hp and that is bog standard, I did phone skoda up about this and they stated 130bhp is a minimum you would ever see, but to be honest I have never seen one that produces only 130bhp.
