Engine undertray help!

Featured Replies

Has anyone had their engine undertray replaced?

Mine was damaged by some ill-fitted flow plates installed at my work and when they got it up on the ramps at my local repairers it looks like it should be made up of two parts.

When the contacted skoda, they only had one part number for it. Could it be that the one number covers both parts? Any ideas?

Its a mk1 octavia vrs by the way.

Thanks!

You should have what looks like half of one there. The diesels have a full size version which completely covers the underneath of the engine.

This is how it should be the 2 dots are where the diesel one would fit.

Although has been some confusion round these parts as to whether some VRS's came with the full version a'la the diesels

I called the dealer earlier this week for pricing on a 54 plate vrs (foolhardy contractors installed lie-flat bollards in the ntrance to our works carpark, problem is they don;t lie-flat) and they tolld me it was 3 parts!!!

I can tell you that the diesel underpan is a 1-piece item (and that mine's been scraped on the road a few times [probably by me]).

Get an alloy one as they will protect the engine when you actually hit something.

Skoda sell them at about £200 fitted I think and the sump on the 1.8T is very exposed and easy to crack.

Its a three piece item. One centre piece and two side supports the link the tray to the chassis legs.

One piece or three just try to avoid dropping anything down there. I dropped a socket while changing the glow plugs on mine and it took 5 mins just to work out where it had gone.:)
