Vrs knocking noise any ideas

Featured Replies

Just a knocking noise appeared when i brake just to a stop and when i let off the brake pedal a knock comes from the front drivers side, also just started to hear when on speed bumps or rough road.

Things checked already:

Shock

Drop Link

Ball Joint

Caliper

Track rod end

Any ideas

Check the rear wishbone bush as well.

I had this, new anti-roll bar bushes sorted that out.

ARB I would say.

May not be just bushes though if the inserts have split.

I've just started to get a scary knocking noise. Mainly when I tap the accelerator pedal or just after a gear change.

Fortunately my car is still under warranty so I'm going to take it into a garage. But i'll keep an eye on this thread to try pinpoint the fault if its similar.

The inserts had split on mine too, got some smaller 19mm ARB bushes off the Audi TT, and took off what was left of the plastic inserts...been fine for about 5 months, and counting.

changed the bushes on the arb but haven't had time to take it for run but the bushes look fine that i took out

i had this problem, changed my ARB, drop links, and bushes- noise cleared up. then it came back in the form of a drivers side lower arm bush and bottom ball joint- cleared up. then it came back, this time in the passenger side lower arm bush and since i had that replaced i hav'nt heard anything more. TOUCH WOOD!
