Yashicamat's Nissan Primera GT

Featured Replies

Well, here's my latest car! A 1997 Nissan Primera GT.

Engine

2.0 normally aspirated all-alloy twin-cam producing 150bhp

Brakes

Ventilated discs all round (to be upgraded soon)

Suspension

GT suspension kit (absolutely fantastic)

Current mods

Diadems front indicators

Clear side indicators

Team Dynamics Monza R 16" alloys

Blaupunkt MP34 head unit

Planned mods

At the moment that is a little way off but I have a few ideas up my sleeve.;)

Looks very nice...how much did you find that for, if you don't mind me asking? Have been tentatively looking for one of these to replace the Octy but the ones I've found have been ragged by yoofs... :(

Rob.

Love the look of that. :)

Nice looking Primara mate, used to have a couple of Nissan's myself a few years ago.

Looking good mate :)

Learnt to drive in one of these. Absolutely fantastic cars, great handling and decent performance too.

Get an nice exhaust on there (iirc Scorpion do one for it) and it'll sound fantastic!

This one was up for £1295 and I managed to squeeze £50 off the price but that was it. There were only a handful on a 60 mile radius search of where I live and all but this one fell down when I asked some simple questions on the telephone.

I dunno if this one has been ragged or not tbh, it's got a very limited service history but the engine sounds smooth and now it's in my hands, it'll be looked after well.:)

There's a few common issues which are worth checking though if you start looking in detail, so feel free to PM me and I'll fill you in. This one is needing £250's worth of work to get it into good mechanical condition, plus the new tyres / wheels.

An exhaust system is being considered.:D I wouldn't want anything too loud anyway, something which purrs when pootling about and gives a bit of a rasp when pushing on, but not a bean tin which deafens passers by. It will have to prove itself reliable for the next 6 months before I think about doing anything to it yet though (it's got nothing to do with limited funds at the moment, honestly:O).

Cracking cars, the Nissans. My last car was a '96 Almera SLX and it was lovely to drive. Some old idiot backed out of her driveway into it and broke my suspension (giving me whiplash in the process) funding my Fabia purchase... all's well that ends well!

Looks like a nice car you've got there mate, and I'm sure it'll be very reliable. Really good design, the Primeras - an 11 year old car which doesn't look dated is quite rare.

really nice car mate , had a go of one of these a few weeks back, was a bit battred but it still went like mad!

If it was silver and had a standard front bumper then I know which one it is :)

I love the GT. I was looking for one of these before the Octavia came on the scene. I couldn't find one with a decent service history or low-enough mileage though (and like you say, hadn't been ragged by MaxPower kids), and with a baby on board I had to settle for the next best thing :D

Top looking car though. Maybe if my numbers come up I can invest in a little project?

Looks smart on the new wheels now

Cheers Davy. :) Going on the RR on Saturday so I'll be interested to see what it's actually putting out. Didn't seem to be too lazy on it's feet though did it on the Lake District meet.:D

It's come along leaps and bounds since you bought it Rob. Almost a different car

Good luck for the RR on Sat - sorry I can't be there :thumbdwn:

It's only when you see the original photos, that you realise it is possible to make silver shine

A great improvement

Great car mate:thumbup:

I miss my TDi:(

Well Rob, it looks nice and we know it goes well, if lacking a bit of torque :)
