Improving Octy Vrs Handling??

Featured Replies

I am very close to buying an Octavia VRS,and wondered how i can improve the handling,as i drove one a couple of years ago with very few miles on it,and it felt very soft.

I was thinking along the line of a set of FK Coilovers so i can get it sitting how i want it,but wondered if this was the best route to go initially,or if i would be better starting with some other mods?

Rear strut brace will help loads ;)

You can also use the S3 top & lower brace(Do a search on these as there is info and part numbers in the thread)

Coilovers will finish it off nicely!

doesn't the Octavia vRS have a rear strut brace as standard? a (uprated?) rear anti-roll bar would probably be a good upgrade along with coilovers/uprated springs+dampers

Just seen a thread on here about a Rear ARB (Whiteline).....................does anyone know where i will be able to get one if i buy the car and how much it will cost?

Balance Motorsport, around £125. A good mod IMO.

Cheers people,

Is it much of a job to fit one?

Does it use original mounts etc that are already on the car?

2 Ubolts to hold bar on rear beam, 2 droplinks and spacer boxes that fit at the base of the shocks and 2 bolts for connecting droplinks to the bar. 30 mins tops, very easy

Thanks for all the help guys!!

What about up front......................is there much benefit to doing the Front ARB and Front Strut Brace or is the Rear one the best mod?

As said Audi S3 upper and lower braces are a good addition. Front anti roll bar is more than adequate, if you go any firmer and you may introduce more understeer :thumbdwn:
