Weak blower

Featured Replies

Hi, I have a 1998 Felicia 1.9d. I think the airflow from the blower is very weak. The blower motor works and it sounds loader when you increase the level from 1,2 and 3.

But, I don't think the airflow increases more than perhaps very very little when you go from 1 to 2 and to 3 (but the sound increases a lot).

Do you think you have ok airflow in your Felicias? I'm not sure if this is model specific or if it is a fault and I should start searching for faulty blower channel flaps or faulty mounted blower motor and so on...

I think the airflow in my Felicia is MUCH weaker than in other cars I've driven, but I havn't compared with another Felicia...

It must be a problem with your car as i find the blower strong, you will find there isn't much airflow through the vents either side nearest the doors though.

You might have something that obstruct the air-flow, or maybe just spray some WD40 on the rotor of the motor to reduce the noise...

Is there a pollen filter that could be choked up absolute solid if it's been in since new?

Solved!

The blower motor was mounted so it rotated the wrong way. I turned it around and now it's working ok. A previous owner must have mounted it the wrong way...

Thanks for the help!

To you for working it out, and to the previous owner for the sort of natural stupidity that no amount of training could ever hope to reproduce!
