just a quick pointer re leather armrest.

I had a leather one in my MKI vRs and had to change it to a fabric one due to the amount of times I burnt my arm on the leather. Not really helpful in your quest but thought I would say it anyway.

I got a Skoda leather one from skospares.com. It came from an L&K model. Fitting is a 1/2 job max.

I beleive the elegance trim had an armrest fitted as standard, but may not be leather.

I think vrsPhil fitted a golf mk4 one, but needed different side trims. I think he posted up the part numbers.

HTH

Elegance has an armrest, but it was black cloth in mine :)

(And I now have a VRS interior, and it doesnt really stand out TBH)

Armrest is grey cloth in my Elegance (so it matches everything else).

It's also totally useless, blocking elbow room and handbrake access when down, and making it difficult to impossible to pass stuff between the front seats when up.

they dont sound that good then? they look good from the pics i will pm vrstu for the part numbers thats if i find the vw type at a scrap yard

#5 is my informed opinion, based on 2 and a bit years practical experience of it. It also contains a "cubby" that's too small for cassettes or CDs, and too shallow for a 100g pack of sweeties.

...but it does quite comfortably hold a chewing gum, sunglasses and twenty fags and a lighter well enough ;)

I don't chew gum, smoke or wear sunglasses. I have doubts about it being deep enough to hold any of my hard glasses cases too.

If it helps I have put both a genuine skoda one in mine and a golf one in my dad's octi both look spot on like they have always ment to be be there

when fitting one from a golf you need to trim a bit out of the mount for the cigarette lighter

and you will need to buy trim parts 1U0 864 279 and 1U0 864 280

otherwise it is a very easy job.

I quite like mine. I keep my sunglasses in there, along with various keys. I suspect that when I come to change arms it will be something that I look for in my replacement motor :-)
