Help, I need to erase my remote controls

Featured Replies

Hi

I have rather screwed up, I have managed to program the remote from another Fabia to work with my 05 Fabia now every time the other car is opened my car opens, is there any way of clearing the memory of the registered remotes myself simalar to the way you can program it or do I need an expensive trip to get it done with a diagnostic computer thing or does it require doing with a laptop.

Kind regards

Chris

It is usually done through diagnostic equipment, however you could try removing the battery from the remote control that you don't want to work, or operating it well out of the range of the car until it drops out of synchronisation.

I can't see how you can get one remote to work on two cars at the same time.

Damn, that wasn't the answer I wanted to hear!

Any ideas how long you need to remove the battery for or how many times use it out of range for it too loose sync?

I was trying to resync a remote keyfob that didn't seem to work (I think it is knackered as the PCB has funny staining on) when someone unlocked the other car which was parked 20 feet away, now when you use that car's remote keyfob it unlocks both cars. Obviously you can't start it with that key as the blade and imobiliser transponder are wrong but I am not happy about the doors getting unlocked.

Nasty problem that, good luck with getting it sorted.
