Octy vRS - Wiper won't stop...any ideas?

Featured Replies

Hi guys...Just picked the car up today, and all was going fine until it decided to rain. Switched the wipers on to intermittent, then onto constant. Drove for a while then stopped. Got back in car, wipers still on as it was still raining. When I got home, I tried to switch the wipers off, but putting the stick into position 0 puts them on constant. The next position up now sort of switches them off if I alter the time-delay switch, the other positions work as they should.

Any ideas much appreciated...

Cheers

Dodgy switch?

If it's under warranty, go talk to your dealer :)

If you desperately need to stop them until you can take it in, pull out fuse number 24. Its 20Amp. (Owners manual, Page 157).

Ahh, you're in 'Boro..

Where did you buy it, Slacks ?

Yeah thats right, middlesbrough born and bred. Yes I did get it from slacks. They'll no doubt be only to happy to look at it tomorrow...they are extremely helpful.

Yep, take it in, they're a good bunch.

I've had a couple of minor niggles looked at same day by them :)

I'll be down first thing in the morning...was going in anyway, as they forgot to give me the key code with the keys.

Went into Slacks this morning around 9:15. By 9:45 I was on my way back with a new wiper control unit fitted. Not bad service methinks...
