fuel filter location

Featured Replies

can anybody tell me ware the fuel filter is on a skoda felicia 1300 gli estate some are saying it is at front behind front wheel some are saying it is behind an exhaust sheild in front of petrol tank i could do with the exact location from someone who knows what they are talking about that has had history with changing one.

Reading another thread someone says it's located at the top of the fuel tank

It's behind an exhaust shield at the rear. Have a good look and you should be able to see it without moving anything. Being able to see it doesn't make it any easier to get to unfortunately though.

under the rear seat is a round metal lid wich when i take it off i see the fuel tank and something else wich a couple of pipes go into and an electrical plug will this be it.

That sounds like the fuel pump. If you lay on the ground next to the car (can't remember which side it's most visible from) and try looking above the heatshield. You will see a silver coloured cylinder with one pipe leading to it and one leading out of it. It will have an arrow pointing in the direction of petrol flow, but this may not be visible depending on the orientation it is installed.

thanks found it done the job but the problem still persists and now i am back to square one still fighting to get it started i took the spark plugs out wich are new and they are all black and sutty so dont know what it is.......also under the car when i was doing filter i noticed all round seal of exhaust it was all sutty as well and i have only just had the exhaust done by national tyres so i dont know if a leaky exhaust can do it.

Whats the problem with your felicia?

Sounds like the car is running rich, this could be something as simple as a blocked air filter. A bit of soot around the exhaust joints soon after having one fitted is quite normal, especially if no paste has been used on the joints.

Also is the car using oil at all?
