iPod Grom adapter with MFD2

Featured Replies

I'm currently looking for a less expensive ipod connector to the MFD2 navi system than the VAG one.

I found this on a US site:

In Dash PC - VW AUDI Skoda iPod adapter (direct digital interface)

Has anyone experience with this? At $75 it is a lss expensive than the Connects2 adapters.

Is there any adapters that can get the id tags etc on the display of the MFD2? Is is even possible?

Both the factory and Grom iPod adapter work by pretending to be a CD changer. Sadly, the CD changer protocol used by the MFD2 doesn't support CD-Text, so you can't display tags etc. on the display.

However, there is an adapter which plugs into the antenna socket, and then delivers the tags using RDS-Text. You can find details here:

Personally, I really like the Harman Kardon drive+play adapter. Details here:

Drive + Play / Drive + Play 2

I've installed them in a number of cars for myself and friends, and couldn't be happier with the way it works.

Baggy,

Cards on the table, I'm an invading Audi owner but I need help!

I have the drive and play unit from Harman Kardon but I'm at a loss on how to fit the fm transmitter adapter to the car. I did the usual thing of removing the head unit but I can see nothing that looks remotely like an antenna connection. I have an A4 with SatNav and MMI.

Any ideas would be gratefully received,

Thanks
