Tyre recommendations for Octavia 1.9 4x4

Octavia 4x4 1.9 - Recommended Tyres

I expected the back and front tyres to wear at different rates on a 4x4.

Just checked mine at 14,000 miles.

ALL have 4mm depth left.

I would like any recommendations from other 4x4 1.9 Octavia Estate Drivers as to the make and type of replacement tyre to use (or stick to the factory fitted Dunlops). Hopefully the current tyres will last to about 24,000 miles.

Thanks

I'm at 16000 miles on mine ( factory fitted Michelin Pilots ) car is 2005 plate. I'm estimating similar 24 - 25k. Wearing is even on all 4 tyres, and I'm well happy with them so I'll be buying the same again ( plus I'll only need 3 cos I'll use the un touched spare and put one of the others in its place)...........

I fitted Michelin Energy tyres at 22,222 miles the car has done 37,000 miles with the tyres looking good

My original Bridgestone tyres lasted 37000 miles with even front to back wear. One thing to check in the inside edge of the front tyres - mine were down to the cords but the rest of the tyre was just legal! The tracking is OK - probably due to the heavy diesel engine and my spirted cornering! :D

I replaced mine with Kumho Ecsta SPT (approx £330 for 4 - I'm running on 16" wheels). They're a lot quieter than the Bridgestone and handle about the same.

I managed to get 28k on the original Dunlops with even wear all round. I changed slightly earlier than most people would as I don't like going down to the legal minimum depth, so I could have got them to last to just over 30k. I put a new set of Dunlops on as I was pleased with their performance.
