Boot Net

Featured Replies

Another useless thread from me!

The Fabia Boot Net...I understand it comes in 3 parts...has anyone go any decent photos that show where the boot net goes, and where it connects, as I am tempted to get one, as it makes it easier to throw stuff in there than to have it rolling around!

Cheers all!

I have no idea about the fabia specific one but motorcycle luggage nets (bungee style) can be had for less than a fiver from any good bike shop. Should stretch far enough to go accross the boot on the hooks, but if not, i'm sure you could secure everything to one side easily......

Worth a try??!!!!

I've got them in my car - will try to remember to take a pic tomorrow.

Feel free to PM me with a kick up the backside if I forget

The three consist of boot floor, back of seats and a side one by the wheel arch (which I haven't fitted as you need to fix a holding bracket in and I didn't fancy that).

Floor one just hooks to each load eye in the corners. Back of seats one loops around the metal clips that keep the rear seat backs in place, followed by two clips that go onto the two nearest load eyes.

That probably sounds complicated but it will be easier when you see a pic. Don't think I've got a suitable one here, so wait for Andy to come back :)

I've gone a bit net-tatsic.

I have the 3 pc boot net kit, but bought a further kit too, so I have nets left and right, front and rear, and boot floor.

Fixing the fastner into the boot trim only requires one hole to be drilled and one screw to be fastned...piece of cake!

Oh, I also have the net that goes under the parcel shelf.

And the special velcro in storage pouches for the left and right of the boot.

I'm amazed at how handy they all are.

fleabay mate, i beleive a new golf ones will fit too.

Make sure that you get the 3pc kit. SUK have a 2pc listed for the Fabia with the right pic but it's not what it says on the tin. Could be for the estate/combi maybe.

Drilling the hole is easy but make sure that you hold the fixing with some pliers before you start to tighen it otherwise you might find that expands outside, rather than inside the hole!

Pics as promised.

As Davy-B says, putting the fixings in was a bit of a pain. There isn't a lot of space behind where it goes so you have to try to start to expand the lugs (inside) with a long screw, and then remove that and put a shorter one in IIRC.

I managed one and gave up on the other - but at least that means you get to see a pic of it!

Hopefully you can work out which bit is which (the rear seat is unlatched and tilted forward on the 4th pic) but I will add some titles later if I get chance....

I'd love to post pics...

But the car is 150 miles away at home, and I'm stuck on an Oil Platform in the middle of the North Sea. Not home for another week...

So just imagine Andy's set up, with an additional net on the RHS and one accross the boot nearest the tailgate.

cheers for the pics!

Might well get a set when paid then. Handy to whack stuff in rather than have it rolling around

Much appreciated gents

Very thorough pics Andy. You're equipping yourself well to Fabia ownership :D
